You were right, I love cruising now and can't imagine any vacation getting better than what I experienced. It helped that I went with a friend who is wired nearly exactly like me.
Our cabin was awesome and I will never forego a balcony. Everything was perfect. The highlight for me was the horseback riding excursion. The guide allowed me, and me alone, to gallop along the shore ( none of the other guests wanted to go faster than a walk). After that, we all ran our horses in the ocean up to our waists! There are no words to describe how euphoric and exciting that was! For me, that experience was a dream come true.
I think now I can even persuade my husband to go next time ( although he won't be as much fun as my girlfriend!)
